Dear Class of 2017 Graduands,

The 23rd Congregation

Congratulations on your accomplishment in reaching this successful milestone in your studies at the University. On behalf of the University, I cordially invite you to attend the 23rd Congregation to be held in the H.Y. Cheung Sports Hall of the Tai Po Campus in November 2017 for the conferment of academic awards.

Schedule of Congregation 2017

In 2017, the Congregation will be conducted in eight sessions, each for graduands of different programmes. You may check the programme schedule for details of the sessions to which you are invited.

Honorary Degrees will be conferred in Session 2. The University will arrange video shooting for this Session for record and publicity purposes.

Registration and Dissemination of Information at the Congregation Website

It is essential that you inform the University of whether you wish to attend the Congregation in person or to graduate in absentia. To confirm your attendance, please complete the online registration of your attendance at the Congregation and/or the loan of academic dress for graduation on or before 6 October 2017.

As the Congregation approaches, we shall continue to update you with the latest information and details of ceremonies. We strongly advise you to bookmark and frequently refer to the Congregation website for the following information:

The following is a checklist of actions required by you and their deadlines:

(Please note that the capacity of the Arena is limited. Guests with tickets must arrive at the Arena 30 minutes before the session starts, for seating arrangement on a first-come-first-served basis.  Once the Arena is full, guests with/without a ticket will be directed to a live broadcast room where they can watch a live broadcast of the proceedings.)

5. Return of academic dress

   - Return to selected laundry outlets of Quality Laundry Limited

   - Quality Laundry Limited’s temporary counter in the Conference Centre E-P-01, Block E, Tai Po Campus during the Award Certificate Collection period

6. Collection of award certificates*

(Note: Graduates (or their authorized persons) who have borrowed academic dress must return the full set or present the receipt issued by the laundry outlet when collecting the award certificates. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to collect the award certificates.)

From 8 to 10 December 2017

*  If a graduate is unable to collect his/her award certificate in the specified period above, he/she/the authorized person can collect it from 11 December 2017 (after 2:00 pm) at the Student Records Service Desk of Information Centre (A-G/F-11, CKCF Building, Tai Po Campus) during the specified office hours (Mondays to Fridays, 9:00am to 5:00pm, except Public Holidays). If the graduate/authorized person wishes to collect the award certificate on festive days, such as 22 December 2017 and 15 February 2018, please refer to the Congregation website for special arrangements regarding opening hours.
