Award Certificate

You are required to settle all outstanding fees/charges/library liabilities before collecting your academic dress (if applicable) and/award certificate. Otherwise, the University will withhold the issuance of all types of academic documents to you (including award certificates and transcripts).

The following table illustrates the Certificates Collection Period for graduands with the respective graduation dates:

# All programmes, except the Certificate for Professional Development Programmes for which the issuance date of award certificates is the date of approval by AB.
^ All programmes, only applicable for programmes with a lengthened Semester 2 extending to the summer (e.g. 2-year HD(KG), MSScPSY(SCS) and some individual students who have outstanding courses for completion in Summer Semester in order to graduate.
*  Adopted as the issuance date for printing in award certificate.

Note 1: Announcement of the details of the arrangement of certificates collection will normally be made by the respective Faculty/Department/School within 4-6 weeks after the graduation date (31 March).
Note 2: Announcement of collection period of award certificates will normally be made by Registry within 4-6 weeks after the graduation date (31 August) separately.
Note 3: The collection period of award certificates will normally start from the second week of December of the respective year onwards. Please call enquiry hotline at (852) 2948 6177 before coming to Information Centre for collection.

 

 

Collection of Award Certificate

Upon successful completion of a programme of study, you will be issued an award certificate according to the schedules specified above.

With the University's priority of health and safety, delivery of award certificates will be handled exceptionally this year by dispatching your award certificate via postal delivery. Therefore you do not need to return to the University to collect your award certificate as what has been done in our established practice. Delivery of award certificate in registered mail will be free of charge for the following graduands**:

(a) graduands who were approved by Academic Board (AB) before the end of March 2020 to graduate with Graduation Date of ‘31 March 2020’ but have not yet collected their award certificate; and

(b) graduands who were approved by AB before the end of August 2020 to graduate with Graduation Date of ‘31 August 2020’.

**Graduation date refers to the approval date of AB presented in your ‘Statement of Results’. Information on ‘Graduation Date’ is available at the Registry’s website (https://www.eduhk.hk/re/) (under ‘Graduates’ -> ‘Award Certificate’) for reference.

An email regarding the collection of award certificate by post was issued to you on 14 September 2020. Kindly be reminded that it is important for you to complete the on-line registration and provide us with an up-to-date mailing address on or before 4 October 2020 (Sunday). Late registration after 4 October 2020 will not be entertained.

For graduands who are approved by AB before the end of October 2020 to graduate with Graduation Date of ‘31 October 2020’, the collection period of award certificates will normally start from the second week of December of the respective year onwards. Detailed arrangements will be announced in due course.

Please note that the University bears no responsibility for any loss or damage of the award certificate during collection or postal delivery.
